PERSONAL – ALUMINIUM Cross-Body Bag Ballerina Pink £1200

After returning from a run of back to back press trips, one theme has firmly materialised: RIMOWA is the suitcase every fashion editor is rolling. The people gliding through terminals with one are simply having a better time; faster, calmer, and undeniably chicer. Every trip, I debate bringing a large, heavy, leather handbag instead of a suitcase (usually containing everything I have accumulated in the last 3 months of life), and every trip, I get it wrong. Every time without fail! After suffering through multiple cities at a snail’s pace, I’ve finally accepted that wheels do always win and RIMOWA does always come out on top.
And yet, somehow, I still haven’t learned my lesson when I watch every editor float past me, tiny silver RIMOWA cabins in tow, each one stuffed with heels they also will never wear. There’s a shared delusion we all indulge in, that this will be the trip we finally commit to the shoe we’ve never actually worn. It never is.

The suitcase has officially become non-negotiable, especially now that RIMOWA has released ‘The Essential’ in Ballerina Pink. It’s an expansion of the German Maison’s colour universe that washes their travel accessories, phone cases, and straps in the same soft, powdered blush. For a stylist and editor, the organisational compartments, dividers, and packing cubes are as much a restraint on my overpacking as they are an actual dream to use. And the hard shell gives me the peace of mind that my belongings (whether samples, full looks or my vast collection of moisturisers that I somehow need every single one) will survive even the most heavy handed baggage handler, which is worth so much more than any of my monthly meditation app subscriptions.
From Paris to Amsterdam, back to Paris and then down to Cornwall, RIMOWA’s Ballerina Pink cabin case would’ve saved me every time. So from now on, if you spot someone wheeling a pink RIMOWA through Heathrow Departures with the confidence of someone who’s finally learned their lesson, it’s probably me, and yes, it’s definitely full of heels I won’t be wearing.
