Copenhagen Fashion Diaries SS25

This Copenhagen fashion week was quite a different experience than the rest. Instead of being a viewer in the audience, I had the chance to grace the catwalks myself! We’ve heard the word inclusivity buzzing around our ears for the last few years, but it was a complete shock when Opéra Sport reached out to cast me in their show. In the two weeks leading up to my catwalk debut, I stomped up and down my living room every evening, wearing the tallest heels from my closet. Besides the catwalk experience of a lifetime, my week was filled with beautifully curated breakfasts, showrooms and dinners. Saks Potts 10th Anniversary Dinner

I interviewed Barbara Potts and Cathrine Saks in Copenhagen for AW24 in January. The girls were so bubbly and excited to share their story with me, something that’s genuinely translated through their designs. This season, the brand kicked off CPFW with a ten-year anniversary dinner party hosted at the Swiss embassy – it doesn’t get posher than this. We were promised five surprises upon entering the architecturally perfected home. The first surprise was a gymnast performance that perfectly aligned with the Paris Olympics.

Along with a deliciously curated menu by famed Danish chef Frederik Bille Brahe, face painting stations, a stunning single layered cake with pink ribboned icing and a screen printed image of Barabara and Cathrine when they were kids, Saks Potts closed the night off with a five-minute fireworks show. The girls shared heartwarming speeches with each other, with Cathrine sharing that “I couldn’t have done any of this without Barabara.” Happy Birthday, Saks Potts!

Cecilie Bahnsen Asics Breakfast

I had the pleasure of interviewing Cecilie Bahnsen a year ago – it was before I ever stepped foot into Copenhagen. Cecilie’s designs are so special to me that I splurged on one of her dresses as a graduation present to me a few years ago. It captures Copenhagen’s slogan, elevated but functional. She shared with me that her favourite way to wear her designs is paired with jeans and trainers. Hence, why her ongoing collaboration with Asics continues to flourish. In our princess dresses and CB x Asics trainers, the Bahnsen girls gathered in front of a cafe under the glistening morning sun. I spoke with Cecilie briefly before running off to my next appointment as she shared her plans for the rest of the summer – to prepare for her show at Paris Fashion Week in September. We can’t wait to see the magic for this next season!

VILLA GESTUZ

The Gestuz team has always been so lovely, hosting me during Copenhagen Fashion Week. We caught up in their showroom, where I got to see the last-minute changes being made to the garments – as their art director buzzed around matching models to looks. We spoke about their runway debut, the Harvey bag, which comes in different sizes and colours. A few looks caught my eye; one was a vegan cowhide coat paired with a matching clutch. Through last season’s interview with Sanne Sehested, the founder and creative director of Gestuz, I learned that leather jackets were an iconic piece for the brand. The brand ventured out of its comfort zone and definitely succeeded with this coat. The SS25 collection, Villa Gestuz, captures the essence of the 70s rock stars’ girlfriends, the ultimate stargirls. I also got a sneak peek of a very special upcoming launch for the brand. I can’t disclose much, but I think of it as a yummy art and fashion cocktail.
